Transcend
Transcend has requested TC2 to develop, optimize and operate its AWS-based platform. In addition to the flexible management of everyday needs, robustness and responsiveness were also decisive aspects in the operation.
The challenge
In addition to the flexibility to meet day-to-day needs, robustness and agility, and therefore scalability, were key considerations in the design and implementation. The client wanted to upgrade their previous environment and ordered a state-of-the-art container-based, scalable solution.
The solution
TC2 migrated the application to a standard AWS operating environment that, in addition to automation, provides full metric tracking, alerts, and logging of application operation. TC2 handles IT issues related to day-to-day business and tasks related to the AWS platform transparently, providing security and predictability in development and meeting business needs at the end of the day. TC2 maintains Transcend’s platform optimally, based on the AWS Well Architected Framework methodology.
TC2 as a partner supported the full migration process in cooperation with the client engineering team, and after the production cutover, still provides operation and support services to the Client. TC2 operation and support resulted in less human errors, less downtimes, and continuous optimization with at least once per year cost and performance optimization, to keep the AWS Solution as cost effective as possible.
AWS solution
The technical solution consists of backoffice applications running on EC2 virtual machines, and ECS Fargate based simulation engine runs on multiple, disposable VPC and compute environments, to serve the growth of the business needs. The solution was implemented in Cloudformation, which was later transitioned to Terraform during the production lifecycle of the solution.
Outcomes and success metrics
As a result of the migration and ongoing operations, the customer managed to cut opex and capex AWS costs multiple times (at least a one digit percentage savings), by the migration and post migration by TC2 cost optimization. Providing a responsible support service to the customer resulted in quick issue resolutions and less errors by TC2 monitoring, alerting and proactive resolutions.
